Amanda Hack MP Returns To Visit Ashby Road

On Friday 8th May, Community Integrated Care was delighted to welcome Amanda Hack MP for North West Leicestershire back to our Ashby Road Supported Living Service in Coalville, marking an important opportunity to connect, listen and share perspectives on the future of social care.

A group of ten people, including Amanda Hack MP, stand around a dining table, smiling to camera.Having first visited our Ashby Road service when it opened in July 2024, the visit provided the chance for Amanda to see how far the service has come and meet more people who have moved in since then.

As well as hearing from people we support about their lives at Ashby Road, and from colleagues about the work they do to support and empower people every day, Amanda also heard from our teams about our Unfair to Care campaign. This prompted conversations around the challenges currently facing the workforce and the wider social care system.

James Brind, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, reflected on the significance of the visit: “It was a pleasure to welcome Amanda to our Ashby Road Service and to have the opportunity for such open and constructive conversations. Amanda shared her own experiences too and demonstrated a clear determination to support positive change across our communities.”

“Visits like this are incredibly important, as they allow us to share the realities of social care firsthand and work together to explore how meaningful change can be achieved. The discussions around Unfair to Care were particularly valuable, highlighting both the challenges and the need for continued collaboration to make a real difference for our colleagues and the people we support.”
