The 30th birthday celebrations continue…

As part of Community Integrated Care’s year of celebrations, last week several of our regional teams hosted a range of fantastic events to mark our big birthday.

We’ve come a really long way since we were founded in 1988 by Halton-based GP, Dr David Robertson. We’ve since grown to support 3500 people with a range of care needs, employ more than 6000 exceptional staff, and are now recognised as one of the biggest and most innovative care providers in Britain.

Our year of 30th birthday festivities began in March, and will continue throughout the year… But back to last week’s festivities!

In the North West, the team held an outdoor summer party at our Wavertree Office with live music, visits from Everton in the Community, an ice cream van, and a special visit from St Helens RFC star Danny Richardson who launched the celebration and brought along the Saints cheerleaders who put on a wonderful performance.

Dean View Villas in South Shields celebrated with a summer fate with stalls, cakes and a raffle – and like the rest of us over the weekend, were blessed with the perfect weather for the occasion. Support Worker, Loren Brennan, organised the event and said: “What a day! It was great to see everyone coming together.”

Team Wensley Street in Sheffield also got out the BBQ – they even had a ‘soak the staff’ stall – which the people we support had a great laugh about!

Our team in the South of England also took advantage of the weather and held a BBQ along with garden games and a good old kick-around with staff and the people we support. Regional Manager, Kristie Small, summed the event up: “What a brilliant day! Lovely company, lovely food and a lovely location.”

Here’s to many more exciting years ahead!
