Moray Supported Living rated ‘Very Good’ for leadership
Moray Supported Living Service has been rated ‘Very Good’ for leadership following an unannounced inspection by the Care Inspectorate, and rated ‘Good’ overall – recognition of a service built on teamwork, continuous improvement and genuinely listening to the people we support.
Services across Moray and the Moray Firth, delivered by five teams supporting 40 people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs, were inspected without notice in July. The Care Inspectorate spoke with people using the service and their families, spoke with staff and management, observed practice, and reviewed documents and surveys.
Leadership rated ‘Very Good’
The service’s leadership was rated ‘Very Good’, with inspectors identifying significant strengths across the care provided. The inspection found clear evidence of quality assurance, continuous improvement, and action taken to support ongoing development – confirming the service has the foundations in place to keep improving outcomes for the people it supports.
Wellbeing rated ‘Good’
How well the service supports people’s wellbeing, and whether their health and wellbeing benefits from that support, was rated ‘Good’. People supported by the service spoke to inspectors about the enjoyment they get from an active, fulfilling social life and the friendships they’ve built through activities outside the service. Where concerns were raised, they were listened to and taken seriously, with management always highly responsive.
Megan Allen, Assistant Managing Director for Scotland, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Moray Supported Living Service. Achieving ‘Very Good’ for leadership reflects the dedication, passion and teamwork that is evident across the service every day.
