Our Gilmorton Team Named Community Champions
The team at Community Integrated Care’s Gilmorton Supported Living Service in Leicester have been recognised for their exceptional dedication at Progress Housing Group’s 2026 Community Champion Awards, held on Friday 20 March.
Taking home Silver in the Team Award category, the recognition celebrates their strong team spirit, commitment to person‑centred care and their continuous efforts to create opportunities for the people they support.

As well as achieving this group recognition, Support Worker, Melanie Noon, also received a Gold award in the Individual Award category for her dedication, in particular her remarkable contribution to the service’s Christmas celebrations. Melanie worked on her days off to transform Gilmorton into a magical winter wonderland, bringing joy to the people supported by the service, their families and the wider team.
Service Leader Gill Edwards said, “I’m absolutely thrilled for Melanie and our entire Gilmorton team. Mel’s creativity, kindness and commitment shine through in everything she does. The winter wonderland she created wasn’t just decoration – it was a moment of joy, belonging and connection for everyone here. She truly embodies what brilliant support looks like.”
“Team Gilmorton is phenomenal. Their teamwork, positivity and passion for supporting people to live full, meaningful lives is inspiring. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.”
The team at Gilmorton is made up of more than 50 colleagues who work together to empower people with a range of support needs to live independently, pursue opportunities and stay connected to their communities. Their nomination and award win highlight the team’s dedication to going above and beyond – supporting people to enjoy holidays, secure volunteering roles, build confidence and participate in community life.
