Our Jedburgh Support Services Rated ‘Very Good’
Community Integrated Care is proud to see our Jedburgh Housing Support services praised by inspectors as ‘changing lives for the better’ and achieving a rating of ‘Very Good’ across the board, in their latest Care Inspectorate report.
Providing housing support and care at home services to ten people with a range of
support needs, the team was rated ‘Very Good’ in four categories – supporting people’s well-being, leadership, the staff team and the planning of care and support.
Inspectors identified significant strengths across all aspects of care and support, particularly around promoting independence, choice and wellbeing. They shared that people were living active, fulfilling lives, supported by a team who know them well and work in ways that build confidence, dignity, and meaningful connection.
Many of the people we support were busy with their own routines and community activities during the inspection, which inspectors recognised as a strong sign of empowerment and independence. However, those who were at home proudly welcomed inspectors, describing feeling “safe, comfortable, and happy in their environment.”
Families were also highly complementary of the support provided, with one relative sharing: “I trust them. They have totally changed my relative’s life for the better.”
Inspectors further noted the team’s strong approach to care and support planning, saying, “People were actively involved in directing their own support and making choices which reflected what mattered to them”, and describing care plans as full of “rich, personalised details” which enabled people to achieve their goals.
Sarah McWilliam, Service Leader for Jedburgh Housing Support, said, “I’m incredibly proud of our team and the people we support. We’ve seen people achieve so many wonderful things over the past twelve months – travelling abroad, trying new experiences, building independence and shaping their own routines.”
“This rating reflects all of these brilliant achievements, the genuine relationships we’ve built and the commitment shown by the team every day to empower people live the lives they choose. The feedback from the Care Inspectorate and from families means a great deal to all of us, and we’ll keep building on this success together.”
Sara Murphy, Community Integrated Care’s Managing Director for Scotland, said:
“This report is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our teams in Jedburgh. The Care Inspectorate’s findings highlight what truly matters – people experiencing meaningful, fulfilling lives with support that is flexible, respectful and centred around their goals. We are incredibly proud of this outcome and of the vibrant, inclusive and innovative services we continue to build across Scotland.”
