Harpreet Uppal MP Visits Huddersfield Service

Colleagues and people we support were delighted to welcome Harpreet Uppal MP to our Sandy Mount Extra Care service in Huddersfield on Friday 10th October.

Harpreet Uppal MP stands outside our Sandy Mout service with two of our colleagues. They are all smiling to camera.Sandy Mount provides tailored support to up to 44 people with a range of needs, including age-related conditions, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges. The visit was a valuable opportunity to showcase the compassionate care delivered by our team and the vibrant community that thrives within the service.

During her visit, Harpreet met with colleagues and the people we support, toured the facilities, and learned more about the inclusive environment we’ve created. She spent time hearing personal stories, exploring the shared spaces, and seeing firsthand how our approach empowers people to live independently and with dignity.

James Brind, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, said, “It was fantastic to welcome Harpreet to Sandy Mount – not only to showcase the brilliant care that the team here provide but also to demonstrate how important our social care sector is, in enabling people to live with choice and dignity. We were really proud to show her around the service and she even got to meet with a person we support, who passionately shared their journey of moving into Sandy Mount and finding the support and independence they need to live their best life possible. We’d like to say a big thank you to Harpreet for taking the time to come and see firsthand the incredible impact that services like this have in our local communities.”
