MP Kim Johnson Visits Gordon House
On Friday 11th July, our charity was delighted to welcome local Member of Parliament, Kim Johnson, to our Gordon House service in Liverpool.
During her visit, Kim met with colleagues and the people we support, offering a valuable opportunity to highlight the importance of social care in our community and to celebrate the creativity and achievements of the people we support.
A particular highlight of the afternoon was an exhibition of artwork created by the people we support. Kim took time to admire their work, listen to their personal stories, and praised their creativity and self-expression.
Her visit reinforced the importance of recognising and celebrating the work of those working in and benefitting from social care services.
Assistant Managing Director Paul Dodman said, “We’re incredibly grateful to Kim for taking the time to meet with us and to engage with the people we support. Her visit not only brought a sense of encouragement to our team but also highlighted the importance of our social care sector. Visits like this give us hope as we continue to advocate for a stronger, more inclusive and better-resourced social care system.”
We look forward to continuing to work together with local MPs to ensure the voices of the people we support are heard and that the social care sector receives the recognition it deserves.
