We welcome new Trustees

Over the past few of months, Community Integrated Care has been proud to announce two new appointments to our charity’s Board of Trustees.

Imogen Shillito, Director of Public Engagement for the National Institute for Health and Care Research, and Ryan Roberts, current Senior Vice President of International Marketing at NBCUniversal both joined our organisation this Spring.

Imogen has worked in a range of senior communications and policy roles for national health and social care organisations throughout her career and has been responsible for making research opportunities accessible for the public, including the NHS COVID-19 Vaccine Research Registry.

Eager to witness our charity’s work in action, Imogen has already visited our William Gibbs Court service in London, along with fellow trustee Shaun Gallagher, meeting some of the people we support and seeing our colleague’s work first hand.

Speaking of her appointment, Imogen said: “I believe that across social care, we need policies that really empower people to lead their Best Lives Possible. I’m delighted to be joining an organisation that is translating this mission into reality for people every day. I hope that I’ll be able to make a positive contribution to Community Integrated Care, working particularly with the influencing and communications teams, to make sure that the policy debate doesn’t lose sight of the needs of people using social care in our communities.”

Equally passionate about getting to know more about our people, Ryan, alongside fellow Trustee, Janet Ryan, he visited our Virtual Care Centre and three of our North West-based services, to meet colleagues and people supported by our charity.

Motivated to contribute to causes that support people in meaningful and compassionate ways, his commitment to social care is rooted in his personal experiences.

Speaking of his appointment, Ryan shared, “I’m excited to join Community Integrated Care because of their commitment to making a difference to the lives of the people it supports.”

“My life changed when my mum was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, but the support from social care charities enabled her to stay home in the comfort of her own home until her passing. I am proud to be joining an organisation that makes such an impact.”

“I hope my media background will help me to support the charity’s marketing and communications team with strategic insight and best practices.”

Our charity’s CEO, Jim Kane, added: “We’re pleased to welcome both to our charity’s Board of Trustees. Imogen’s experience in the health and social care sector will be a great strength for our charity as we move towards our next chapter. Meanwhile, Ryan brings great experience in the media and marketing sectors and it’s clear that his passion and values strongly align with our charity. We’re excited to work alongside Imogen and Ryan and look forward to the contributions they will make as Trustees.”
