CMM Features Our CEO And People We Support

We’re proud to share that Jim Kane, Chief Executive Officer of Community Integrated Care, has been featured in Care Management Matters (CMM) alongside people we support, where they offer an inspiring look at our charity’s evolving vision for the future of social care.

The thought‑leadership piece, ‘Lighting the way: Striving for social care excellence’ explores how renewed ambition, co‑production and lived experience are shaping a bold new chapter for our charity, through the launch of our Best Lives, Bolder strategy.

In the article, Jim reflects on Community Integrated Care’s long-held belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a full and independent life, connected to their community – an ambition that continues to guide our charity more than three decades on. He explains how our Best Lives, Bolder strategy builds on that heritage, focusing on raising standards, amplifying lived experience and striving for excellence across all aspects of social care.

Jim also highlights how we’ve listened to thousands of voices across the organisation, from the people we support and their families to colleagues nationwide, to develop our new strategy, ensuring that future change is grounded in real experience and shared aspiration.

Importantly, the feature also shines a spotlight on the voices of two people we support, who share their own lived‑experience perspectives on what the future of social care should look like. They discuss why coproduction is essential in designing meaningful support, what true excellence looks like day‑to‑day, and what living a bold life means to them – being heard, having influence, and shaping services that reflect their aspirations and individuality. Their views echo the powerful message within the CMM feature – that meaningful change must be led by those with real experience of care.

Together, these contributions highlight why now is a pivotal moment for social care, and how Community Integrated Care is working to inspire higher standards, celebrate lived experience and champion a more ambitious, person‑centred future for the sector.
