We welcome Imogen Shillito to our Board of Trustees

Community Integrated Care is delighted to announce the appointment of Imogen Shillito to its Board of Trustees. Imogen has worked in a range of senior communications and policy roles for national health and social care organisations, most recently as Director of Public Engagement for the National Institute for Health and Care Research.

She has been responsible for several UK-wide services to help make research opportunities accessible for the public, including the NHS COVID-19 Vaccine Research Registry, Be Part of Research and Join Dementia Research.

Passionate about improving access to high-quality care, this has been a theme spanning Imogen’s 25-year career with roles spanning the NHS to the social care  workforce regulator, charities, the pharmaceutical industry and national government. Imogen has expertise in digital and public engagement, communications and public policy.

Eager to witness our charity’s work in action, Imogen has already visited our William Gibb Court service in London, along with fellow trustee Shaun Gallagher, meeting some of the people we support, and seeing the important work of our colleagues first hand.

Speaking of her appointment, Imogen said: “I believe that across social care, we need policies that really empower people to lead their Best Lives Possible. I’m delighted to be joining an organisation that is translating this mission into reality for people every day. I hope that I’ll be able to make a positive contribution to Community Integrated Care, working particularly with the influencing and communications teams, to make sure that the policy debate doesn’t lose sight of the needs of people using social care in our communities.”

Community Integrated Care’s, CEO Jim Kane, added: “We are pleased to welcome Imogen to Community Integrated Care. Her experience in the health and social care sector, combined with her work in communications, policy and influencing will be a great strength for our charity as we move towards our next chapter. Imogen’s drive and passion for improving access to high-quality care reflects our own values and goals.”
