Our Wigan Supported Living Services Rated Good
Community Integrated Care is delighted to celebrate our Wigan Supported living Services having achieved a ‘Good’ rating across the board from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in their latest inspection, which praised the team’s ‘kind and compassionate care’.
Our team at Wigan Supported Living Services support 30 people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and autistic people to live fulfilling lives in their own homes, across Wigan.
Praising the team’s approach to support, inspectors said, “People receive kind and compassionate care. The team protect their privacy and dignity and understand and respond to their individual needs.”
They continued, “The service maximises people’s independence, choice and control. They enable people to make their own decisions, supporting them to access the community safely and meaningfully.”
The report also commended the culture within the service as being “open and transparent, with a clear focus on providing good care” and remarking on how “leaders and colleagues share a commitment to equality, respect and continuous improvement.”
Having spoken to people receiving support, inspectors shared that, “people were positive about their experiences…one person told us they were happy living in their flat, praised the team for being compassionate and friendly, and valued the support which helped them stay active and maintain friendships.”
Samantha Brennan, Managing Director at Community Integrated Care, said, “We’re incredibly proud of our Wigan Supported Living team for achieving this fantastic result. This rating reflects their unwavering commitment to our charity’s values – ensuring that every person we support has choice, dignity, and independence. Empowering people to live the best lives possible, our colleagues demonstrate the true heart of social care, and I’m delighted to see their dedication recognised.”
Councillor Keith Cunliffe, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, said: “Enabling people to live in a safe, kind, compassionate environment with the right level of support at the right time, is vital to live with dignity and independence. 100 per cent of the supported living providers commissioned by the Council are rated Good or Outstanding by the CQC, and I am delighted that another local provider has achieved this result.”
