Supporting colleagues with Everymind at Work

Today marks Blue Monday – the third Monday in January which is often claimed to be the most depressing day of the year (17th January). More than ever though, we’re aware how mental health and wellbeing concerns can affect anyone at any time, on any day.

That’s why at Community Integrated Care, we’re proud to be looking out for our colleagues’ mental health every day of the year thanks to our brand-new partnership with Everymind at Work – an organisation that helps organisations like ours to deliver proactive mental wellbeing support to our colleagues.

According to Everymind at Work, “at any given time, 1 in 6 working-age adults have symptoms associated with mental ill-health.”*

Our new partnership ensures that support is available 24/7 for all of our colleagues via an easy-to-access app. The app is completely confidential and offers a range of practical support and advice at the touch of a button. The resources are all produced and regularly updated by a clinical psychologist, and cover information on a variety of topics, such as stress management, body confidence, family relationships and much more!

As part of our collaboration, specialists from Everymind at Work will also be delivering informative webinars throughout the year, focused on important themes surrounding mental health and wellbeing, beginning this month with a webinar on the importance of Sleep.

Teresa Exelby, Community Integrated Care’s Chief People Officer, said:

“As a charity, the wellbeing of our colleagues has always been a huge priority for us. We know that work has such a big impact on our lives, and the past two years have been extremely challenging, as our teams have navigated their way through a global pandemic. However, to deliver world-class care and support, our colleagues have got to be thriving, both in work and personally.

Within our charity, and the sector as a whole, we often see people going above and beyond to help others. However, when it comes to themselves, many find it difficult to give that same level of care. We’re passionate about our partnership with Everymind at Work – an organisation whose person-centred values align so much with our own – and we hope that together we can give our colleagues the tools they need to become more aware of their own wellbeing and access support that is personalised to them.”

Angela Bayne, a Support Worker based in Hampshire, is just one of our colleagues who has already benefitted from the resource. She said:

“The Everymind at Work app is brilliant and has already helped me to improve my awareness of my own wellbeing – you can go on and self-assess how you’re feeling based on your current emotions and find really personalised tools and advice. It’s so easy to use and because it’s all there on my phone, it makes it really straightforward to access support and it really gives me a daily boost!

I’ve even completed a short course on the app and am now an Everymind champion which means I’m better equipped help others access the support they need too. I think this is a fantastic resource that will really help us all to look after our own wellbeing better!”
