‘EachStep’ in double shortlist success

Community Integrated Care’s pioneering dementia care service EachStep Blackley has received yet more acclaim, by successfully being shortlisted at two national ceremonies.

Laing BuissonThe Laing Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards celebrate the best performing care providers in the sector, including those providing home care and support in residential services.

Community Integrated Care’s Director of Care Serviced & Outcomes Sue McLean, has been shortlisted in the ‘Innovation’ category for her outstanding work in developing the ‘EachStep’ model of dementia care. The model sees people living with the condition supported from diagnosis, throughout the progression of their condition with a range of support from one specialist location.

EachStep’s Clinical Specialist Alan Howells has been shortlisted for a fantastic double of awards, in both the ‘Training & Dissemination of Good Practice’ Award, and the top accolade of ‘Outstanding Contribution’ for his excellent work in the social care field, in a career that spans almost 30 years.

EachStep has also been shortlisted for the ‘Best Care Complex’ Award at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards, which promote and reward the very best in design and development in all types of care-related properties. The awards ceremony will take place in London this April.

The service has previously received recognition for its excellence in design, when World Health Design magazine featured the service as part of a report about architectural brilliance in older people’s care homes.

Community Integrated Care’s Chief Executive, Neil Matthewman, says: “It is a huge honour for EachStep to be recognised at these awards. In EachStep, we have worked innovatively to create a positive environment for the people we support; that is not only clinically therapeutic and stimulating, but also comfortable and comforting.

Neil adds, “My congratulations go to Sue and Alan, who are richly deserving of this recognition for all of their hard work.”
