Dignity Award for Manchester Homes

Two of Community Integrated Care’s Manchester services were honoured to receive Manchester City Council’s ‘Daisy’ Dignity in Care accreditation, in recognition of their commitment to upholding the independence, choice and dignity of the people they support.

Longford Care Home in Chorlton and Community Integrated Care’s flagship dementia service EachStep Blackley, were both presented with the accolade by Councillor Paul Andrews, Executive Member for Adult Health and Wellbeing at Manchester City Council, at the ceremony in Manchester Town Hall.

The Dignity Awards are part of Manchester City Council’s work to promote best practice in the care of adults, and are offered following a series of thorough assessments and evaluations.

Councillor Paul Andrews, who presented both services with their award, said: “These awards not only recognise quality but also the effort that has gone into exceeding care standards. It’s vital that we treat older people, who are often very vulnerable, with the respect and dignity that they deserve.”
