Deputy Chief Exec to Showcase Commissioner Relations at Health+Care

Cath Murray-Howard, Deputy Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, will argue at the Health + Care 2013 Conference that care providers need to be less awed by the cuts in public spending and more willing to develop practical, lasting solutions to the national dementia crisis.

Deputy Chief Exec to Showcase Commissioner Relations at Health+CareDelivering a presentation called ‘Dementia Care: Providers, NHS and Local Authorities – Working together to meet local need’, Cath will propose that in the current social and economic climate, providers can’t do what they have always done.

Her presentation will explain that now, more than ever, providers need to be innovative, outwardly-focused and genuinely collaborative, working with NHS and Local Authority partners to devise new solutions that are equally cost effective and outcome focussed. It will give real life and practical examples of how Community Integrated Care, as one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities, have used collaboration and innovation to develop better dementia services.

Health + Care, takes place on 12th-13th June, at Excel, London. It will bring more than 6,000 care sector professionals from across the UK together to review best practice and innovation in health and social care.

Cath Murray-Howard explains, “At Community Integrated Care, we are committed to having proactive and positive relationships with our commissioning partners. We believe it is incumbent upon care providers to think creatively and independently to deliver new solutions to the issues our professional partners face; this, of course, relies upon having a deep understanding of the communities you work in and the requirements of commissioning and social work teams.”

She continues, “In my presentation, I will explain how Community Integrated Care has cultivated this strong level of understanding and applied it to deliver better, more innovative solutions to meet dementia care need in the communities that we work.”

Cath delivers her presentation at 10.30am on 12 June 2013, in the ‘Rising to the Challenge of Dementia’ hall.
